At its core is the T-shaped support of the backrest—a structural and visual anchor that defines the chair’s character. Inspired by the enduring elegance of 1950s and 1960s furniture, TAO reinterprets familiar silhouettes seen in vintage school chairs, Nordic bistro seating, and Eames classics through a contemporary lens.
Built around a pair of molded wooden shells and a sleek metal frame, TAO distills the traditional into a design that feels both modern and nostalgic. The emphasis lies in formal clarity and structural innovation, resulting in a lightweight frame that supports the seat and back as if suspended—achieving visual lightness without visible screws or rivets.
Distinctive die-cast aluminum elements at each end seamlessly secure the backrest while acting as signature details, giving TAO its clean, refined appearance. Balancing strength with elegance, TAO is a modern minimalist chair with a friendly presence and a quietly sophisticated soul—perfect for contemporary interiors and refined public spaces.

The second reason, more of a design and technical nature is that the fixing of the backrest to the structure has always been one of the most difficult knots to untie in the design of a chair.
